I do not have the patience

To finish a book.  I think it has been, oh, 7 or 8 books in a row that I have begun and dropped. The latest being Uncle Tom's Cabin.  And its not that I get bored with the story (well, in most cases they are non-fiction, so its not that I get bored with the subject), but that I always have other things I want to do than read.  This is a sad, sad pattern I have set up.  I really would like to have 'great reader' as a descriptor of myself.  I really would like it to be that people think of "reader" when they think of me, but frankly I have no patience to finish for-fun books.  I guess I always hope that I will pick up a book and continue along with it.  

But let's be honest: that's not going to happen.
