The Hunter

Mr. H and I just watched Plummy take down a rabbit.  On the one hand I wanted to see the adorable bunny live, barely escaping the grasps of this blood thirsty cat.  On the other, I wanted so badly to see Plummy take down an animal half her size.

We saw it coming: while sitting around after hitting some golf balls around, we saw a bunny across a small draw hop hop hopping around.  Plummy, at the time, was up with us.  But as soon as she saw the rabbit, she slithered her way down towards the bramble bush that the rabbit was heading toward.  After a short while of nothing happening, and the bunny hopping around as normal, the rabbit made a fatal mistake.  It hopped back uphill, past the bush.  Quick as a flash, Plummy took off from behind the bush and took down the rabbit in a short scuffle.  Minor amounts of dust went flying.  The bunny went limp.

And then she dragged it off.  To where? We don't know.  She walked up the stream bed and left it somewhere in the bushes.  Either that, or she downed it in no time flat.  We even searched for the body after Plummy resurfaced, but to no avail.  And Plummy didn't seem too inclined to let us in on the secret.

I only wish that she had warned me.  Waited until I got my camera, and then went after it.  Is that so much to ask?

You should have saved the rabbit. The cat will get fed, it doesn't need to kill this poor bunny.

You are a horrible human being.

5 signs of procrastination...

1) Commenting excessively on a sisters blog.
