Spring has finally ushered itself in! Which is interesting, since Winter was particularly Spring-like. We had very little snow, until the first day of Spring, after which we had regular bouts of snow here and there. Which makes perfect sense? No? Yeah, not to me either.
But that is all past now. I hope. To commemorate the warm weather, the three of us went romping around at the Bowl and Pitcher, this time (just to switch things up and keep you on your toes) we went DOWNstream. And after spending a number of hours there, we came back, had hot dogs and corn on the cob, played whiffle golf in the back yard, and relaxed in the hot tub. Feel free to be jealous. And since that day, it has been beautiful and warm and sunny. Every day. Granted, that's only like 3 days. But it's a pattern I can live with.
This weekend we have been house-sitting for ma fille's mom. Which meant that yesterday I got to go outside and play with the dogs, tire ourselves out, and lay in the grass with two panting dogs next to me. I don't believe in god, but that's pretty close to what heaven would be like.
Kasha, at D's mom's place
Yukon is the older of the two dogs, and as so has a harder time competing with Kasha for the completely flat, holed up, old basketball. I would make sure to give small throws, nearly directly at Yukon so that he had some sort of chance to get it. I would joke about throwing it practically at his mouth, but I accidentally threw it and hit him in the face, so it's not so funny to joke about.
The dynamic of the two dog's is hilarious, other than when it gets so loud that it hurts my ears. But that isn't too often. Yukon is old and, though not completely, fairly grumpy. He cant do things like I suppose he used to be able to. And Kasha is young, spunky, and full of fun energy. And all she wants is a playmate. This playmate, other than a few games of tug-of-war, is not Yukon. He would much rather go off and do his own thing, avoiding the energy-wasting bounces of Kasha. No one wants to be knocked over and have to take the effort to try to keep up. Neither does Yukon. They really are an odd couple.
I want a dog.
