Less than a half an hour ago (at the time these words are written), the rover Curiosity landed on Mars. Compared to what happened to me today, that's chump change. Today, I got to see my niece again for the first time since mid-June. And that makes me celebrate like those folks in the control room at NASA.
Ohmygoshshe'ssocute!
We went over to see my brother and sister and their baby, who is now almost two months old. She is somewhere around the weight I was when I was born. Sorry mom. We spent our time walking around the house, looking at the lights, and observing the back yard. She was even very personable for us the whole time, putting on a show with her smiles and faces.
She knows how to work the camera
The rest of the day was spent hanging out with the rest of the family that's home. Crosswords, card games, the usual. Diana contacted a few locations as possible wedding venues and we almost immediately heard back from two of them. So sometime before I leave behind the possibility of checking out the venues, we will likely head towards Mt. Rainier and scope them out for ourselves. I think that should be a fun day trip! Maybe we can go on a short hike too!
