Playing catch up

Hi. Since I last wrote many things have happened to me.  For example, I applied and got accepted into graduate school.  In about a month I will be living in Alaska, studying geophysics in Fairbanks and transitioning into life in the North.  Maybe I could tell you about my new niece, officially making me an aunt.  She has managed to change my status, and I had to do nothing! It's a great position to be in.  I get an upgrade because my brother had a baby.  Another notable thing is that I got engaged.  It's pretty cool because I get to wear a ring. That way when I'm crying myself to sleep at night because my fiance is still in Spokane, at least it will be my fiance that I miss, and not just my girlfriend.

But onto way more important issues.  I am considering starting another photo project. While I promise you nothing- no ring for you!- I have three days worth of photos so far.  I figure that this would be a good time to start such a thing again, what with the road trip to Alaska and all. So, here for your viewing pleasure is the debut of a Daily Picture Project, take two.

It's been really warm in Spokane recently, mid to upper 90s, but it finally cooled down a bit.  In the evenings it is bearable, and even pleasant, to sit out on our porch, eat diner, and strum a little tune.

Why hello there.

For the summer, Diana and I are working on a landscaping project for her dad.  So far it has consisted mainly of gravel.  Some 20 tons of gravel. So far. By hand. From the pile to the wheel barrow, to wherever it's being laid, and then dumped. Which, depending on where it's being laid, can be the hardest part. This wheel barrow is called Rock Lobster.  Diana's is Rock Monster (that barrow's a monster, mo-mo-mo-monster), and the big ol' flatbed we drive around has been fondly called the B-52.

"This is so easy!"

"Oh that was a bump!"
"Oh god, please don't fall over for the picture!" *heave*

Those pictures are from filling the pathway.  Not the hardest place to get the rock, but not the easiest either.

As I mentioned, I am moving to Alaska soon.  We have to be out of our current place by the end of July, which means that we have to know what stays here, what goes, and what will follow once Diana moves up too.  So, as far as all of the moves in my lifetime, this is the most organized and methodical move ever.  That said, I love moving.  I love moving so much that sometimes it requires me to put on a game face to get it done.  This is us telling the boxes who's boss!

I pull tape like a master.  Watch me and you will learn.

The aggression face is important.  Otherwise it wont know who is in charge here.

And then the follow through.  Taping up boxes like a boss.

Watch me tape you up! I WIN!

That brings us to today.  Will there be a tomorrow?  Well, that's a huge question.  But I can say that there will likely be a photo tomorrow, if it happens. Will it be posted tomorrow or will it be nine months before I post again on this thing? Good question.
