I am getting into this job at the gas station. Not that I find it stimulating or satisfying. But my boss seems to like me well enough, and despite his cultural differences and thick accent, he's a pretty funny guy. Last time I worked, I met his wife for the first time. I talked to her about school, my past, my plans for the future, etc. Today, Henry (my boss) told me that his wife took a liking to me.. he's not sure why, but she really likes me. It's probably because I remind them of their daughter. It was a nice compliment. Henry even told me today that I wouldn't even need him around soon.
These are all very good things because it means that if I need to, I can always go back here and get a job. I hope that this summer will be filled with the Forest Service, and though I have not yet decided whether (if the FS works out) I will keep the gas station job... maybe a couple days every other week... if I quit for the summer, I can come back and quickly pick up a job this time around, rather than sitting around for months unemployed. A definite plus.
