Our new, younger, roommate moved in yesterday, and to celebrate the change in life we are having a party for her tonight. Yet again there are a ton of people I don't particularly know, lots of commotion, and lots of noise. I'm a bit of a hermit. Anti-social, if you will. And I have a gaggle of teenage girls outside my room, making a a gaggle of teenage girl screeches. It's wonderful.
On better news, I heard today from the Forest Service that, although not official yet, they do in fact want to hire me again for the Missoula Legacy Roads Crew again. I would be working with another female, guaranteed through the end of August. The only hitch is that I applied late, and therefore the application hasn't been completely processed yet. And, if the situation arises, they have to give priority to a veteran (a bang-bang shoot-shoot type veteran). They are planning on hiring me at the higher, GS-5 pay rate this time, as opposed to GS-4 of last year, but if something arises they can do a fancy trick of rehiring me another way, in which I would be at GS-4 again. Which, frankly, would be better than GasStation rate. But, I have my fingers crossed that there are no issues, and I get hired soon, at GS-5. Either way, today was a good day.
